

Fatima graduated her B.Sc degree in pharmacy from Petra University (Amman, Jordan) and worked as a pharmacist. In 2018, Fatima completed her Master's studies at Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University on "treatments of Type 2 Diabetes and Obesity in mouse models". In 2019, Fatima joined our lab. Fatima spends her spare time with the family. She also likes travelling and sport.

Tamar Gordon, Ph.D student
Tamar graduated with her B.Sc with honors from the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University. She completed her M.Sc at Sagol with recognition for her academic excellence, in investigating biomarkers for alcohol and drug addiction. Outside of her research pursuits, she enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, running, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Hasan Ishtayeh, Ph.D student

Hasan graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and went on to do a Master's in Genetics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In his free time, Hasan enjoys cycling, reading fantasy books and playing tedious and overly complicated video games.

Prof. Avraham Ashkenazi,
Principal Investigator
Prof. Ashkenazi performed his Ph.D. studies at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. In 2013, he joined the laboratory of Prof. David Rubinsztein at University of Cambridge, UK as a Postdoctoral Fellow supported by the FEBS Long Term Fellowship. In 2017, he received the FEBS Distinguished Young Investigator Award. He joined the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University in July 2018. Avraham also likes to cycle, do art drawing and spend time with the family.

Dr. Yevgeny Berdichevsky, Senior Research Associate, and Lab Manager
Dr. Berdichevsky graduated his B. Sc., M. Sc. and Ph. D. degrees at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Tel-Aviv University, Israel. Yevgeny performed his Ph.D. studies in the field of Biotechnology and Antibody engineering. Yevgeny worked as a senior research associate at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University as well as a project leader in Israeli biotech startup companies in the field of CAR-T cell therapy and CRISPR. Yevgeny also likes reading books, combat training and photography


Sharon Pochtar, P.hD. student
Sharon graduated with a B.Sc. in a double major program in Psychology and Biology, with a focus on Neuroscience, at the Sagol School of Neuroscience. She continued to an M.Sc. in Clinical Neuroscience at the Sagol School, where she was recognized for her academic excellence, investigating potential regulators of UBA6 in actin-related diseases.
Outside of her research, Sharon enjoys playing tennis, dancing, hiking, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
